End of Year Updates

Good Morning Everyone,

We only have 4 and 1/2 days of school left. I wanted to remind families of a few things prior to the last day of school. Grade 3 field day will be tomorrow. We thought it was going to rain today! Monday is the grade 3 field trip to Odiorne point. On Tuesday, we are having an All School Meeting to wrap up the end of the year and it will be Island day. Students are welcome to dress in Island wear and the PAC has provided all students with leis to wear and keep. A letter was sent out earlier this month that all students will also receive a snow cone from Kona Ice.

Wednesday will be the last day of school and it is an early release day. Please be patient for dismissal as we usually have a lot of car riders on this day. No lunches will be served and there is no CARES. Also, I kindly ask that all parents do exit into your cars on Wednesday or move your cars to a different location if children are gathering. We need to be able to get the buses out so that all students can get home in a timely manner.

Report cards will go home on Wednesday. Please note that all supplies are listed on our website and have been updated. These are only suggested and students will be supplied with anything that they do not bring in.

Lastly,  I am happy to announce that we have found an administrative assistant for the Shawsheen Elementary. Thank you to my committee who helped during the interview process: Mrs. Reilly, Mrs. Burke, Mrs. Gibbs, Mrs. Doherty and Mrs. McDougal.

Jennifer Sirois is a graduate of Bridgewater State College with a BA in Elementary Education. She taught for several years but decided to leave the teaching position and utilized her computer and interpersonal skills to take on a receptionist job. She has skills in software, customer service, Microsoft word, google docs, and much more. She is flexible and understands the safety and security of the main office. She also is well versed about being a teacher, understanding families and the communication, organization and urgency that can take place in a school setting. She has a wonderful personality and will be a great fit for the Shawsheen.

You may see Ms. Sirois over the next week or so as she begins the transition process. Her first official day will be July 1st!

Please note that I will post my summer days on the blog and that I am also reachable by email. Also, students are welcome to send me postcards all summer long. I love reading them and writing back!
