Dear Shawsheen Families,
We are happy to announce that the district will be
recognizing October as National Ant-bullying Month. At the school we will be kicking off Anti-bullying
month by doing a presentation for students during lunches. On Monday, October 5th
we would like to encourage all the students and staff to wear blue for blue
shirt day world day of bullying prevention to signify the importance of
bullying prevention. Blue is the color for the campaign “stomp out bullying”.
In addition, we will be incorporating this theme weekly for the month of
October. Below are some examples of activities that we are going to do.
- October 5th
district wide is Stomp out Bullying and wear blue shirts.
- October 13th
Anti-bullying campaign. Have your child create a picture at home for an
anti-bullying message. For example, kindness, respect, tolerance, etc. Pictures
will be selected and be made into posters for the school. In addition all
pictures will be hung up.
- October 19th
will be random acts of kindness week.
- October 26th
classrooms will make character education bulletin boards and during the
week all students will walk through the building to view all the bulletin
boards.
