Staffing Updates 2018-2019


·        * Samantha Bottaro will be replacing Mrs. Menezes in September for her maternity leave. Samantha has her Master in education for specialist teacher of reading. She also comes with a bachelor in science in elementary education and an elementary license. Samantha will be around as she is hoping to sub within the building this upcoming year.

·        * Briana Locke will be coming here from the Wildwood where she was and still currently is a 1:1 aide for a student in the Pathways program.

·        * Mary Moran will be temporarily placed  in our Stepping Stones program as an aide until the end of September to help transition the students into the program.

* * Lauren Cameron will be our new second grade teacher replacing Mrs. Bolt. Lauren has covered a long term leave for our grade 3 classroom last year and has done an outstanding job. She has experience coming into a classroom at the middle of a year and/or at the beginning. She has her Masters in Elementary Education and a BA in English. 

* Christine Galletta will be covering for Mrs. Doherty who will be going on Maternity leave from our stepping stones program in September. Christine graduated with her Masters from Lesley University with a major of Elementary Education. She also has her BA from UMASS Amherst in Sociology. She has been in education working as a paraprofessional and as an ABA in home therapist. 

* Ryan Cunningham will be our new Pathways Teacher. Ryan has his license in severe disabilities all levels.  He has four years of special education teaching experience as a student support instructor in the intensive learning program at Fiske Elementary School in Lexington. He has run individualized academic and behavior programs, modified the general curriculum in the inclusion setting and managed student behaviors based on ABA principles.

* Robin Clayton has been our general tutor at the Shawsheen for two years. I am pleased to announce that Robin will be one of our special education teachers this year mainly servicing first grade students. She is certified in Elementary Education and Special Education. She is well versed in the Wilmington Curriculum including staff and students in the building.

* Meghan Ashley will be covering for Mrs. Weeks while she is on Maternity Leave until October. Meghan is a special education aide in our building currently and is certified in Early Childhood. She is working toward her special education masters degree as well. While Meghan is covering the leave, Mrs. Darlene Duggan who recently retired from the aide position will be subbing for her. We are thrilled to have qualified and familiar staff working with our students.

* I am happy to announce that Stacy Melin will be our new language based teacher at the Shawsheen Elementary. Stacy has worked in Wilmington over the past year as a long term sub covering a special education position and other tutoring positions in the district. She has her license in Early childhood, Elementary, Moderate Disabilities K-12 and her Masters in education from Salem State along with her BA in psychology from Umass Boston. She has completed the Level 1 training in Wilson's and has had training in Orton Gilling-ham. She is energetic and eager to take on a classroom in Wilmington and has comes with enthusiastic references from Wilmington.
