Dear Parent and Guardians:
The Massachusetts Education Reform
Act provides an opportunity for parents, teachers, and administrators to work
together on a School Advisory Council. Some of the main areas of
responsibility for school advisory councils have included adopting educational
goals, identifying the educational needs of students, reviewing the annual
building budget, revising student handbooks, and creating a school improvement
plan.
At this time I am asking for your
interest in serving on the council for this school year 2019-2020. In order to
create parity, the number of parents serving on the council will be equal to
the number of teachers and administrators who will serve. I am looking for two
parents or guardians at this time.
For your information, the School
Advisory Council meetings are conducted once a month after school. Meetings
start at 3:00 p.m. Members are typically asked to serve a two-year term. If you
are interested, please send me a letter of interest via email or mail and I
will get back to you.
If you have any questions, please
feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Lisa King
Principal
